ARRAIGNMENT PLANNED TODAY FOR MAN SUSPECTED OF RAPING DAUGHTER

Spokane, Wash. (AP) - an arraignment hearing in Spokane, Washington, today for man suspected of raping his daughter. Kenneth Freeman was returned to the u.s. yesterday after being arrested in Hong Kong earlier this year. Freeman hasn’t directly addressed the charges, but last week said that he never “physically hurt or threatened” his daughter.

FORMER PAKISTANI LEADER SAYS THERE WERE TWO ATTACKERS IN HOMECOMING BOMBING

Karachi, Pakistan (AP) - former Pakistani prime minister Benazir Bhutto says there were two attackers in the bombing that killed up to 136 people at her homecoming celebration in Karachi. Bhutto says her guards also found a third person with a pistol and another with a reported suicide vest.

AUTHORITIES INVESTIGATE SAC KINGS PLAYER OVER ALLEGED SEXUAL ASSAULT

Sacramento, Calif. (AP) - authorities are investigating allegations that Sacramento Kings player Justin Williams sexually assaulted a female acquaintance. A team spokesman says Williams has been given an indefinite leave of absence and returned to Sacramento from a road trip to New Mexico to obtain a lawyer. Williams’ attorney calls the allegations “unfounded.”

BONES OF WOOLLY MAMMOTH FOUND IN STOCKTON

Stockton, Calif. (AP) - construction crews uncovered the bones of a woolly mammoth while they dug into downtown Stockton to build a new county building. Scientists say the bones are a momento of the Pleistocene ice age, about 30-thousand years ago.

MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR VICTIM OF NORCAL DRAGGING DEATH

The victim of a Northstate dragging death was remembered this week in Yuba County. A memorial service was held Thursday for Wille Roberts junior. He died in September, after being robbed, beaten, and dragged by a truck.

MAN SENTENCED FOR OROVILLE SEXUAL ASSAULT

Sentencing this week for a man convicted of sexually assaulting a 74 year old Oroville woman. The attack happened last year. 69 year old Henry Walker was in court Thursday, where he was sentenced to 50 years to life in prison, plus an additional 32 years for other charges.
