CHINO, Calif. (AP) – Federal officials have extended a ban on
use of meat from a Chino slaughterhouse shut down this week for
allegedly mistreating cattle.
Officials also say the facility had been previously cited for
using electric prods on animals.
But the U.S. Department of Agriculture told reporters today that

Layoff notices will be distributed to staff members of the Chico Unified School District. Paradise High School was briefly locked down this afternoon following reports of a gun on the campus. School Officials tell KPAY the school went into precautionary lockdown, but the report was only a rumor.
