The suspect in a fatal stabbing in Magalia has been convicted by a local jury. According to the E-R, Darrin Pacheco was found guilty of voluntary manslaughter Thursday. While Tuberculosis cases were down overall last year in California, Northern California saw an increase in cases. The American Lung Association reports several Northern California Counties reported TB cases, including Glenn and Tehama Counties. Already a “non-attainment” for old EPA smog standards, Butte County will now have to work toward new standards announced this week.
