Tanker Fire Closes Highway 20 In Colusa

     WASHINGTON (AP) – The Pentagon has announced that it mistakenly
shipped non-nuclear ballistic missile components to Taiwan from a
U.S. Air Force base in Wyoming.

Officials Warn Medicare And Social Security Are In Trouble

     WASHINGTON (AP) – Trustees for the government’s two biggest
benefit programs are sounding a warning.
     They say the Social Security and Medicare funds face “enormous

(Update)Power Outage Hits Chico

Power has been restored to thousands of residents in North Chico. P-G and E says 2500 customers were affected by the outage that hit around 7:40 AM. The outage affected streets including East, Lassen, Eaton, and the Esplanade. P-G and E spokesman Paul Moreno says crews are looking for the cause of the outage.

Farmers Turning to Well Water in Sacramento Valley

Water tables are dropping in the Sacramento Valley as farmers respond to cutbacks in supplies from federal reservoirs. Agricultural contractors in the Central Valley Project have seen allotments cut to 45 percent of contract amounts.  Glenn County Farm Bureau President Mike Vereschajin says farmers are turning to well water.
