Local Teens Participate in Fire Exploring Academy

Five teenagers from Butte and Tehama County are learning what it takes to become a firefighter.  The teens are spending their Spring Break in Palm Springs for this year’s Fire Exploring Academy.  The event draws about 180 young people from around California. The Butte County Fire Chief says the five cadets will experience the physical and mental challenges of becoming a firefighter. The academy continues thru Sunday.
