An inmate at the Butte County jail was found hanging in his cell early Sunday morning. The Sheriff’s Department says John Martin was a parolee out of Sonoma County…he was pronounced dead at Oroville Hospital. An AFFORDABLE HOUSING apartment complex could be first up for construction in Chico’s Meriam Park neighborhood. The Finance Committee meets this morning and will consider a funding request for 7 million dollars. The financing would come from the Chico Redevelopment Agency’s Low and Moderate Income Housing Fund.
