The use of a HAMMER lands a Gridley man in jail. Gridley Assistant Police Chief Brian Cook says officers responded to a domestic violence call Tuesday afternoon. When they arrived at the home they found both people covered in blood. 43 year old Keith Schwartz was booked for assault with a deadly weapon.

Chico drivers might want to change their route this weekend, if they plan to take Pine Street. The city is working on a project to create a bikeway through Annie’s Glen and part of lower Bidwell Park. Pine Street will be completely closed between Vallombrosa and East Third Street Friday night through Monday morning.
