A blaze that erupted in a Chico neighborhood burned several outbuildings Wednesday afternoon. The fire happened just after 2 PM at the corner of Laurel and East 22nd Street. Two outbuildings and part of a field were burned, but three nearby homes were spared. At last report, the cause of the fire was under investigation.

Butte County authorities are looking for a man seen in the area of two small fires in Paradise Wednesday afternoon. The flames burned just over an acre, but also knocked out 9-1-1 emergency phone lines in the Magalia Ridge area. The fires occured near Lago Vista Way.
