Chico leaders tonight look at ways to cut city emissions. A recent study from Chico State University found more than half the city’s emissions came from transportation. Tonight the city’s Sustainability Task Force will look at ways to cut those and other emissions 25 percent by the year 2020.

SACRAMENTO (AP) – The state Senate didn’t take a holiday from partisan debate on California’s tardy budget, but continues to be in a deadlock over how to deal the with state’s deficit. California is now a record three months into the fiscal year without a spending plan.

The crowds stayed away from the Sacramento River Monday for the annual Labor Day float. Only several hundred tubers reportedly turned out…compared to the estimated 10 thousand tubers who took to the water Sunday. No serious incidents were reported.
