A Gridley man with a gunshot wound was arrested after he was released from a Chico hospital. 28 year old Paul Menchaca was taken into custody Tuesday and booked into the Butte County jail for a parole violation. The Gridley Biggs Police Department says it received reports of shots fired Monday in the area of Laurel and Kentucky Streets. Officers located a witness and several spent shell casings…a business was damaged by the gun shots. Enloe Hospital notified police about a gunshot victim Tuesday. Police believe that victim is connected to the Gridley case. The man claimed he “sat on a gun” and was shot in the leg…Police describe Menchaca as “uncooperative” in the investigation.
