A recent study shows that climate change and increased forest fuels are the primary reasons why forest fires in the Sierra Nevada are burning LARGER and are more SEVERE. Jay Miller is a Remote Sensing Specialist with the U.S Forest Service. He says fires are clearly more intense than during the 1940’s and 50’s.

SACRAMENTO (AP) – The FBI has arrested a Sacramento man suspected of sending letters labeled “anthrax” to over 100 major media outlets, along with at least one congressman’s office. Several Oroville schools briefly LOCKED DOWN Wednesday afternoon after a false report of a peson with a gun on campus. The lock down was in place at Central Middle School, Wyandotte Avenue School, and Sierra del Oro School. Authorities say the student who made the false report could face disciplinary action.
