Package that Caused Chico Evacuation Turned out to be Harmless

The package that caused the evacuation of Congressman Wally Herger’s Chico office proved to be harmless. A bomb squad robot retrieved the package Monday after a Herger staffer saw an unidentified man leave it on the counter. Chico Police Spokeswoman Linda Dye says authorities don’t know the the man’s name.

More shaking in northern California. Two more small earthquakes reported in the Quincy area Tuesday. The largest of the the two had a magnitude of 2.7, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

Death called Suspicious on the Ridge

Authorities are treating the death of man found Sunday in Paradise as suspicious. 51 year old Eric Jones was found dead on Azalea Lane in North Central Paradise on Sunday. Sgt. Drive-by Shooting Reported in Marysville

No injuries reported following a drive-by shooting in Marysville. That shooting happened Monday night on Maple Street. One home was struck by bullets. At last report, authorities were still searching for a white Chevy car seen in the area.
