A familiar scam back again in the northstate. The Chico Police Department is warning residents of a scammer posing as an officer, seeking donations over the phone for “Police Officer Associations.” Police say the local department and Police Officers Association don’t engage in that type of solicitation. Authorities say anyone who receives such a call should be suspicious and report it to local law enforcement.
