Chico leaders are asked to appoint Captain Mike Maloney as permanent police chief. The city is currently going through the recruitment process, but the President of the Chico Police Officers Association says it’s not needed.

A man is arrested for allegedly setting fre to a Chico antique store. 22 year old Evan Felver faces arson charges for the June 26th fire at Eighth and Main Antiques. The fire took place about 3:30 in the morning. A joint investigation between the police and fire department led to the arrest.
