A 3 year old girl survived a near drowning at a Chico apartment complex, thanks to an out-of-town visitor. Chico Police say a Red Bluff man was at the Chico Courtyard Apartments Thursday afternoon, when he learned the girl was unconscious in the pool. Authorities have identified the Red Bluff boy killed by a rock slide in the Lassen Volcanic National Park this week. The Shasta County Coroner’s Office says 9 year old Thomas Botell was killed in Wednesday’s rock slide…his 13 year old sister was injured. The Chico Planning Commission has rejected the proposed Wal-Mart expansion plan in Chico.
