Butte Air Board Rejects Mandatory “No Burn” Days

The “Check Before You Light” campaign will be back for another winter. A short-handed Governing Board at the Butte Air Quality Management District meeting Thursday keeps the voluntary program in place. Gail Williams with the District says only 7 of 10 board members were present.

Williams says concerns in the south county affected people in the north part of the county.

Williams says staff will bring the plan back before the board in October, and the “Check Before You Light” program is scheduled to start on November First.
