A gas leak Sunday afternoon in Chico caused some temporary evacuations. Chico Fire Inspector Marie Fickert says a back hoe working around West 1st Avenue and Arcadian struck the gas line.

The Chico Police Department describing Halloween this year as “busy” and “somewhat violent” for officers.
