Tehama Co. Officials Looking at How to Judge if Prison Realignment is Working

California counties have no way of gauging whether the new realignment program is working. Several agencies are getting together today and tomorrow to come up with ways to assess the new state mandated program. Richard Muensch is the Chief Probation Officer for Tehama County and he’ll look at the efforts of Tehama, Tulare, San Joaquin, Shasta and Madera counties. The realignment program has lower level inmates serving their time in county jails instead of state prison to help relieve prison overcrowding.
