The price for two Butte County fire engines has gone up. So Tuesday local fire representatives will go before the Board of Supervisors to request funding to cover the difference. Fire Fiscal Officer Tom Limper says when the purchase was approved last year, the price for two engines was 760 thousand dollars. But now the cost has gone up to 870 thousand dollars. The purchase order must be put in by the end of the fiscal year. Limper says it usually takes up to a year to get new fire engines.
