Zimmerman Attorneys No Longer Representing Him

SANFORD, Fla. (AP) – The former attorneys for a neighborhood watch volunteer who fatally shot a Florida teen hit the talk show circuit to defend going public with their decision to stop representing him. On NBC’s “Today” show Wednesday, Craig Sonner and Hal Uhrig said they didn’t feel it was right to continue speaking for George Zimmerman when they were no longer in touch with him. Officials say Zimmerman killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in February as he walked through a neighborhood. Zimmerman has said the shooting was self-defense. The attorneys say they haven’t been in touch with Zimmerman since Sunday. They say he contacted special prosecutor Angela Corey, against their advice. Corey announced Tuesday she’ll make an announcement regarding the case within 72 hours. Sonner told NBC Zimmerman is “where he won’t be found.”
