One man arrested in Shasta County, after allegedy firing shots at a Sheriff’s Deputy. The incident happened in Palo Cedro Monday afternoon. The Sheriff’s Office says a Sergeant arrived on Northgate Drive to conduct a welfare check, when he was met with gunfire. Authorities say the alleged shooter took off on foot, but was taken into custody. 30 year old Augustine Witcraft was booked into the county jail on a charge of attempted murder of a sheriff’s deputy.
