More than 50 local service providers will be part of Butte County’s inaugural Project Homeless Connect at the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds in Chico today. Meagan Malloy is the Butte County Homeless Continuum Care Coordinator. She says homeless from around the county can come to the fairgrounds and receive one-stop shop for services. Services will range from health screening to child care to pet care and bicycle repair. The Project begins at 10am and concludes at 3pm. There is Project Homeless Connect bus that will transport homeless from Biggs, Gridley, Oroville and Paradise. Malloy says it took five months to organize the Project.
