A possible plastic bag ban will be getting more attention from Chico city leaders. Linda Herman with the city of Chico says the City Council’s Internal Affairs Committee voted Tuesday to recommend the council consider an ordinance restricting “single-use” plastic bags. According to city documents, plastic bags contribute to litter at beaches, along roadways, and in creeks. And Butte County estimates it spends nearly 55 thousand dollars a year addressing litter, mainly consisting of plastic bags, at the landfill.
