Chico was one of the cities taking part in an FBI sting aimed at cracking down on child prostitution. The sting led to 104 arrests and recovered 79 victims nationwide, including 6 in Northern California. The Sacramento Division of the FBI and local authorities reportedly took part in the operation from Tuesday through Saturday. Since the first operation in June 2008, multi-agency teams in the Sacramento Division area have recovered 23 children and arrested 18 pimps.
