Shasta County authorities have identified the 19 year old man shot and killed by Redding police last week as a known gang member. The Sheriff’s Office says an officer shot Scott Deen in the chest following a violent struggle Friday, in which Deen allegedly tried to stab an officer. Four officers were involved in the incident…the four are on paid administrative leave. During a press conference Monday, officials said Deen had an extensive criminal background.
