Interstate 5 was shut down for more than 12 hours Thursday after a fatal accident in Tehama County. Officer Roger Smith with the Highway Patrol says a big rig drifted off the right side of the roadway and overturned. The driver died…a passenger in the sleeper part of the big rig suffered major injuries and was brought to Mercy Medical Center. The incident happened about 2 AM and was compounded by some road work being performed by Cal Trans in the same area. This follows another fatal accident Wednesday afternoon.
