More evidence of West Nile Virus activity popping up in Butte County. The latest indicators were two dead birds found in south Oroville and Biggs that tested positive for the virus. Doug Weseman is with the local Mosquito and Vector Control District and says across the state, West Nile activity is much higher this year compared to 2011. He’s urging local residents to eliminate all standing water from their property to prevent mosquitoes from breeding.
