A Chico woman is said to be recovering after being the first human case of West Nile Virus in Butte County this year. Public Health Doctor Mark Lundberg says the woman is in her 60′s and is from the Hegan Lane area in south Chico. He says many West Nile Virus cases do not show any symptoms, and this one took quite a while to develop and diagnose. He says this case stems from the end of last month. He adds this is a good time to remind people to take precautions against the mosquito borne disease.
