Chico City Leaders tonight look at the issue of “single use” plastic bags in the city. “Single use” bags are those that are extremely thin and can easily be blown around and create a garbage nuisance. General Services Director Ruben Martinez says a citizen’s group was interested in furthering this issue. There is a possibility the Council could direct staff to craft an ordinance outlawing the bags. But Martinez says right now City Council members are just looking at the issue.
