Butte County Administrator Looks at Latest Budget Projection

The man who oversees Butte County Government says budget cuts from the state are apparently inevitable, but they may not hit Butte County so hard. So says County Administrator Paul Hahn, who says most of the cuts will come in social service and some welfare programs. He says his one big worry is if the Legislature re-opens the budget, meaning lawmakers could cut whatever they want. The latest state estimates put California in a 4 billion dollar hole this year, and a 13 billion dollar hole next year.
