Chico Man Arrested Following Oroville Pursuit

Butte County authorities say a Chico man who led deputies on a car chase in Oroville crashed into trees and ran on foot. The pursuit began Thursday afternoon when a deputy spotted two people standing near a suspicious vehicle on Wyandotte Avenue. The Sheriff’s Office says 36 year old Paul Rose got behind the wheel and allegedly backed the car up toward the deputy and took off. The driver lost control and slid through a fence on Lincoln and wrecked his car in a grove of oak trees. The Sheriff’s Office says Rose then fled on foot, but eventually laid down near the railroad tracks. He was arrested but admitted to a local hospital for medical treatment.
