CA Lawmaker Can Begin Collecting Signatures for Part-Time Legislature

Voters this fall may decide if California should have a part time Legislature. The Secretary of State gave the green light this week for a Republican Assemblywoman to gather more than 800 thousand signatures needed to put the measure on the November ballot. Assemblyman Dan Logue says he’s still looking at the bill, but he thinks the time has come for part timers because there are too many bills.  The measure calls for California lawmakers to meet three months a year, and have their pay cut to 15 hundred dollars a month, or 18 thousand dollars a year.
