SCSO: Two Killed in Shasta County were “Innocent Bystanders”

Shasta County authorities have released details of a violent attack Tuesday in which two men, described as “innocent bystanders,” were killed. The Sheriff’s Office says 35 year old Thomas McDonald became upset when he thought someone was stealing his medication. He allegedly stabbed two men with a fork, then allegedly attacked an elderly neighbor with an ax. The Sheriff’s Office says that attack on Ralph Torborg was so severe the victim’s face was crushed and one hand was cut off. The Sheriff’s Office says McDonald also allegedly attacked Karl Bradshaw, who was sitting in his truck on a break from work. Officials say Bradshaw was struck in the head with the ax and tried to drive away. Investigators say the suspect also allegedly set the truck on fire by tossing a cigarette into flammable liquid. The Sheriff’s Office says when McDonald was arrested this week, he was covered in blood and tissue matter from the victims.
