Paradise Town Council to Look at Finances

Current and future financial problems comes before Paradise Leaders tonight. The Town right now has a more than 377 thousand dollar deficit because revenues are worse than projected. And the unfunded liability–the amount paid to current and future retirees in medical benefits—is now at almost 30 million dollars. Town Manager Chuck Rough says the problem harks back to the past when the Town gave medical benefits and not salary raises. Rough says hopes are to try and cut that amount by getting concessions from various employee union groups. The Town currently has 166 current and future retirees.
