Fires Reported in Chico, Oroville, Red Bluff, and Yuba County Tuesday

Several fires around the northstate Tuesday. In Chico, a blaze was reported just after 6 PM in a motorcycle storage area on East First Avenue. That fire also damaged Spike’s Bottle Shop. An Oroville home on Acacia Lane was damaged in a blaze just before 11 AM. In Red Bluff, one man was reportedly injured following a fire at a mobile home park.

Meanwhile, authorities are investigating the cause of a fatal fire in Yuba County this week. The Appeal-Democrat newspaper reports 66 year old Joann McClanahan died Tuesday during a fire at her home. Officials say the victim’s son tried to rescue his mother, but was unable to get past the smoke and flames.
