Crews for Pacific Gas and Electric will be busy for the rest of the year checking for leaks in 180 different locations in its natural gas pipeline system. The San Bruno pipeline is one of the areas vulnerable to corrosion. The San Bruno pipeline explosion caused a blast and fire that destroyed 38 homes last year. Some of the areas vulnerable to corrosion include 7 locations in the North Valley. P.G.&E.’s Paul Moreno says the utility announced Tuesday that it is conducting emergency leak surveys. Moreno says the project here and statewide should be completed by mid December.
