Chico Police Stretched Thin During 200 Calls for Service

Chico Police say there were too many calls for service, and not enough officers to go around. The Police Department says between Sunday afternoon and 7 AM Monday, officers responded to 203 calls for service, including a commercial burglary, shooting, downtown fight, and domestic violence incidents. Police Captain Lori MacPhail tells KPAY the department was “slammed.”  Police say a man allegedly fired shots at a home on Columbus Avenue, then fled. Two Manteca residents were arrested for allegedly cutting a hole into the Likker Locker on East Avenue during an early morning commercial burglary.
