Glenn County Supervisors Review Possible Budget Cuts

A Glenn County Supervisor says eliminating a “wish list” for new county employees and tapping one-time use funding will help close a more than 3 million dollar budget shortfall. The Board of Supervisors will review budget recommendations today on how trim the deficit. Supervisor Steve Soeth tells KPAY other savings can be found by removing funding for vacant and unfilled positions. Soeth adds that counties must have an approved, balanced budget by the end of June, but a final county budget is expected to be adopted before October.
