A fire that destroyed the Child Support Services building did not take out the agency. A new temporary location is in operation today. Tehama County Administrator Bill Goodwin says the 4th of July fire completely destroyed the agency’s headquarters but both Butte and Shasta Counties came to the rescue, with help in handling the agency’s cases. No one was hurt in the fire, which is still under investigation. Goodwin says a new location is being sought and a new lease with the state will not cost the county any local money.
