WASHINGTON (AP) – President Barack Obama will once again press Congress to extend tax cuts for low- and middle-income earners when he hits the road today. He’ll travel to Iowa, the state that launched his presidential bid in 2008. Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney wants an extension of Bush-era tax cuts for all income levels. Meanwhile, the Senate is expected to begin debate today on a Democratic plan that would give tax cuts to companies that hire more people. The plan calls for 10 percent tax credits to companies that hire new workers or give raises to current employees.
